am i the only one who finds it bizarre as to how these "hipsters" are so into the music scene but they rarely talk about films? i see them lot writing music blogs but rarely do i encounter those who write about films.
what is it about music as a medium of art that is more enticing to this "hipster" audience?
why are films less enticing to the same audience?
i assume the best explanation why music resonates well in this culture is the fact it is more accessible. it's easier to create for cheap(er) for the lesser mainstream crowd. it's as though the value of music as a medium of art has cheapen since everyone with a guitar thinks he/ she can start a myspace music page.
this is the same case with photography. it has devalued as bad as the american dollar ever since everyone thinks he/ she can be a great party photographer with just a dslr and a flash. come the fuck on. be a real photographer by 29 at least. i'm sorry i digress but seriously. you have got to be kidding me if you still take shitty party photos when you're in your 30s.
