frenching with michel thomas - tape 1

so i got this audiobook by michel thomas so i can learn some french while i have nothing to do since i'm still unemployed (yes, i know, being unemployed is uncharacteristic of a yupster, and i'm sorry!)

but anyway, i just finished listening to cd one about ten times since last night. and i thought this guy is pretty good at what he does.

the basics of this audiobook course is that there's no writing, no homework, and no memorizing. technically, him telling his students to not memorize is complete b.s. it's impossible not to.

what i like about his method is that he repeats and elaborates his french. the guy starts off with some conversation with a couple students in english. then he starts describing some simple phrases in french then translates to english.

he describes a bunch of simple phrases that you use everyday. after that he comes up with a long sentence in english and tells his students to translate the whole thing to french with the basic phrases they learned.

anyway i tracked down this guide's transcript from a geocities website! can you believe it, people still use geocities!
