feichtinger architectes: bridges

i guess i'm doing profiles of architecture + structural firms now. maybe occasionally, maybe daily, i dunno.

architect: dietmar feichtinger architectes

offices: paris, france, and wien, austria
website: feichtingerarchitectes.com
quotes:
“i don’t to get into the habit of designing only office buildings, only bridges or anything else. habit kills creativity.”

“the bones of the building – that is what every architect should be interested in."
passerelle simone de beauvoir:

when i visited paris a couple years back, i saw this awesome modern bridge over the seine but never got the time to photograph it. took a while figuring out the bridge's info though. the bridge is so simple in principle and yet efficient. i think it's my favorite bridge design yet.

if i remember correctly what my professor told of the structural concept, the bridge's lower level may be supported with tension cable, while the upper level with compressed curved girders. dont know the details but definitely deals with tensegrity.
