I am so bored at home that i finished reading a book in 24 hours, and i generally hate reading novels! this is the first book i read in a year or so (last was the final harry potter installment. stfu). anyway, bought the book three or four months ago and finally read it.
It's a new John Grisham book titled The Appeal which i bought at ralph's after a concert at el rey. yup. i do groceries after i'm done with concerts.
Anyway the book is a political thriller set in Mississippi and Manhattan. Essentially the story is about how a major business tycoon works in the background to ensure the election of a conservative state supreme court justice. By electing a conservative who wants to limit liabilities of corporations, the tycoon can win his company's appeal and reverse a ruling to pay punitive damages to the folks of "Cancer County" who have been dying do to the illegal waste dumping into the ground waters of the county.
Another Pelican Brief-esque, same-ol' grisham novel but whatever, it's still pretty good and well-crafted. i cant believe i just wrote a book report. so elementary school...
