why hipsters are terrorists and assholes

and how the pro-israel lobbyists lost their one and only battle.

scarf

i keep seeing all these assholes roam the streets in los angeles and in kuala lumpur wearing the keffiyeh recently. it bothers me a lot because it just doesn't look right on them.

don't get me wrong, i wore the keffiyeh when i was eight years old having the time of my life eating kebab when my family vacationed in jeddah, saudi arabia.

i mean, every arab dude there wore the keffiyeh. And then being the eight year old conscious kid i was, i told myself that i should wear them so that i can fit in.

more after the jump

i guess what i'm really annoyed with the keffiyeh is for two reasons:

1) that just because yasser arafat was on tv all the time, the pro-israel supporters blindly claim that the keffiyeh is a sign of palestinian terrorism, which automatically is islamic terrorism, and that those who wear the keffiyeh are like yasser arafat, accused being an anti-semite.

arafat

2) that some americans have the tendency to be ignorant and they are damn good at stereotyping a group just because what they wear or what they look like is so foreign to them.
"what the fuck is that fancy patterned shit on that dude's head? it looks pretty but since he's brown and he looks super suspicious and mean. must be a terrorist"

3) that those hipsters who wear the keffiyeh don't even know shit of the tradition but think it's a
cool thing even in 100 degree temperature. they don't even wear it right.

what i dont like of the reasonings:
1) that all arabs are hipsters.
2) that the pro-israel supporters are really really really just annoying because they basically assume everyone who wears the keffiyeh is a terrorist.
3) that automatically, pro-palestine equals anti-israel and anti-semite
4) that the phrase anti-israel being equated to anti-semite really pisses me off because they are NOT the same thing.
5) that they would go the length to even stop urban outfitters from selling the garment.
6) that the power of symbolism in politics is downright ridiculous. a traditional garment is now a terrorist symbol. call me an anti-semite or anti-israel or a terrorist because i know i am non of those, but seriously, equating a culture to terrorism is just sick, arrogant, and downright despicable. so fuck you.
7) that arabs are now the new group being discriminated against. it's like, every 50 years america needs some new group to make fun of.

what i like of the reasonings is that:
1) those hipsters are terrorists. and i think they deserve to go to guantanamo just because.
2) those supporters should've sued urban outfifters asses so it doesn't exist anymore. that should be the new definition of ethnic cleansing.
3) that black people and gays are definitely happy they are not being discriminated against as much.

in the end, we still see so many of these losers wearing the scarf. everywhere i turn, it's there.
i guess it's a good thing i haven't stepped out of the house in a few days. in this hot weather, they should just wear the ultimate asshole tshirt which has a print of a keffiyeh on it. it's more efficient, saves time and you look like a bigger douche than you want to admit.

deep down inside, i wish all the pro-israel lobbyists can actually step it up and actually form some sort of watch groups. take turn going to malls and clubs and demand the hipsters to take off the scarf so that they wont be labeled an anti-semite and/ or a terrorist. we can accept being called rice picker or red necks or niggers, but goddamn, nobody ever wants to be called an anti-semite. definitely worse than being called a cunt. cindy mccain knows how that feels.
