paris spring summer 09 - day 4

antonio miró/ lanvin/ bernard willhelm/ wintle/ dior homme/ masatomo/ juun j/ paul smith/ wooyoungmi/ agnès b.

so overall i thought the paris show was kinda lame and disappointing. i thought the milan show was better. saw kva's dior homme collection and it was pretty boring. i think he tried too hard. ooh this is a good line by william miller on almost famous that kris van assche should always think about:

lester bangs: you like the new lou reed?
william miller: the early stuff. the new stuff,
he's trying to be bowie, he should be himself.

willhelm - someone finally went back to the good ol' gay ages. shouldve gotten woody allen to model one look. i mean, this was all he wore in 'love and death'

hey, i've seen a bunch of these douchy-looking hipsters roaming the streets in the hipster triangle (los feliz, silverlake, echo park). and i can swear that most of those guys who wear the black rim glasses + hat have serious case of receding hairline.

the cuffs are so high it doesn't look so nice to roll em up that high. if i were to show my kankles, i'd cuff my pants an inch or two above.

galliano - someone made a printed coat! i made mine out of my chem105a lab coat for halloween sophomore year. mine is basically called the book of steve of our RA at college.

i think i like my coat more, because the whole floor residents basically wrote a book about steve and then i transfered the writing onto the coat. plus i dont look like carrot top.

i feel like for the milan and paris runway, i keep seeing cropped leggings/ tights underneath the shorts. i always thought that's a pretty neat look but only for cropped leggings that stops just below the knee.

i remember i saw this a month ago on a look book on skeleton legs for the d line by tass standard ss 08. link here >>>. i'm glad other people are catching up.

i was really looking forward to kris van assche's collection but i thought his presentation was weak. so i'm not posting any pics of his. he better deliver dior's runway show tomorrow. then again, what i remember is that his accessories for last year's runway weren't the ones that went into production cuz i dont remember seeing the hi tops i bought on last year's SS08 runway. i'm crossing my fingers.

unity/ gaspard yurkievich/ julius/ loius vuitton/ number (n)ine/ jean paul gaultier/ yohji yamamoto/ véronique branquinho/ dries van noten/ henrik vibskov

yurkievich - presented a prada-like tutu/ dress skirt for men. i think i might buy it. maybe i'll buy their whole stock of the dress skirt so that no man in the world will sink that low. srsly. i think 'gender bender' is more masculine looking.
